在海洋氣候環(huán)境中，影響材料或制品腐蝕（老化）的主要因素包括光、氯離子沉降、溫度、濕度等。這些因素還存在協(xié)同效應，這是導致單因素強化的自然加速試驗或單因素模擬的試驗室環(huán)境試驗相關性比較差的原因，為了提高加速試驗的相關性和加速性，設計多因素綜合氣候加速模擬試驗箱，能實現(xiàn)模擬太陽輻射、氯離子（或其他污染物）、高溫、濕潤、干燥循環(huán)試驗。根據（ISO 9223規(guī)定）標準金屬、工程塑料、有機涂層進行試驗驗證，初步說明該試驗具有良好的加速性和相關性。
